Purpose

Laura is a full-time artist based in Germany, creating vibrant abstract works with the intention to radiate energy. Born in Geneva in March 1980 and raised in South-West Germany, her early life across different European cultures shaped her visual sensibility. She studied Fashion Design at the University of Applied Sciences in Trier and built a successful career as a fashion designer before transitioning fully into art.

Her artistic language is rooted in color and form. Drawing on her background in fashion, Laura approaches her compositions with a strong sense of construction, where shapes meet and interlock like pieces of a pattern. Sewing, an integral part of her design practice for many years, has naturally found its way into her art: previously painted fabric fragments are patched together to complement each other. For Laura, color functions as an emotional dialect, while form becomes the architecture that carries it.

At the core of her practice is the pursuit of happiness. A painting is only finished once it evokes an immediate sense of joy for her, a feeling she seeks to pass on to her collectors. Her art functions as a visual language, communicating on an emotional level and created not for fast consumption, but for the heart. Built intuitively yet with precision, her works explore contrast, rhythm, and imagined spaces with vibrant energy, aiming to create a lasting impact. They are a reminder to pause, to recognize what we already have, and to practice gratitude, something Laura believes is essential to happiness.

In September 2020, Laura shifted fully into painting and has since developed her career independently through consistent self-management and a strong online presence. Today, her artworks are collected in 24 countries across four continents. From her studio in Bielefeld, she continues to refine and expand her evolving visual language.
